The Norton Road winery at Wamboin encompasses a charming five-acre vineyard dedicated to Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Riesling, which was first established in the 1990s. Situated at an altitude of around 800 meters with a serene easterly aspect, it is ideally positioned for cultivating cool climate varieties including Pinot Noir, Merlot, Riesl
The Norton Road winery at Wamboin encompasses a charming five-acre vineyard dedicated to Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Riesling, which was first established in the 1990s. Situated at an altitude of around 800 meters with a serene easterly aspect, it is ideally positioned for cultivating cool climate varieties including Pinot Noir, Merlot, Riesling, and Chardonnay. The vineyard is currently being rejuvenated and expanded, with new plantings of Riesling, Pinot Meuniere, and Cabernet Franc. Additionally, we manage a second small four-acre plot in nearby Bywong, which features Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc. This Bywong vineyard benefits from a lower altitude and distinct micro-climate compared to the Norton Road block. Collaborating with local growers in the Canberra district, we continually enhance our offerings by incorporating regional varieties from other local micro-climates into our Norton Road wines.
